Boosting Durban: Rewardsco Director Takes Charge to Promote South Africa’s Outsourcing Hub

Rewardsco has long been a dominant force within the South African BPO sector, and now, with a meticulous expansion strategy in place, the company is further establishing its global presence.

Director Fathima Dildar was recently appointed as Rewardco’s Chief Business Development Officer: International and has been tasked with leveraging the organisation’s knowledge and reputation to penetrate new markets across borders.

“I see this as an opportunity to play a pivotal role in taking Rewardsco to new international heights. We’ll be providing services in new territories and I’m excited to be spearheading that,” Fathima said.

This move not only marks a key moment for the company but also reflects Fathima’s aim to further Durban’s reputation as a top global spot for outsourcing. Through her new role as the Chief Business Development Officer: International, Fathima wants to make the most of Durban’s strengths – such as its good business environment and skilled workforce, to bring in investments, create jobs and boost the local economy.

“For our current and future people, this initiative means we’re aiding in placing South Africa as a major channel for BPO service provision. The more quality and quantity we deliver to the world sets us apart from the Philippines, India and other countries in this space. What we’re doing is helping to build a niche for the South African market,” she said.

The newly appointed Chief is aware that her role will come with its specific set of challenges. But, she’s no stranger to tackling challenges head-on. Coming from a disadvantaged financial background, she was unable to pursue her dream legal career after school. Instead, she took a detour and became a teacher.

After spending a few years in education, she finally had the means and the opportunity to go after her long-term goal – becoming an admitted attorney and practising at a leading global law firm.  This opened the door for her to join the BPO industry, where she has spent over 10 years commercially negotiating and establishing relationships with key stakeholders in the industry.  

Fathima says her long and winding road to success prepared her for this new chapter, moulding her into the ideal person to take Rewardsco into international waters.

“I adjust to change because I have a student mentality, resilience and an intrinsic motivation to succeed. I know that the people we have here at Rewardsco match that tenacity and I know that’s how we will become entrenched as a quality boutique BPO service provider. We’re not looking to compete against others. We’re taking our successful FIND, WIN, RETAIN & GROW formula and putting it to work on a global scale and setting our own benchmarks.”
